Thank you for visiting Plateautours.com or booking tours with us. These Terms and Conditions below apply to any travel products or services you have booked with us, and govern the contractual relationship between you, the clients and us. Please read these Terms carefully as by booking any product with us, and make sure you have read and understand these Terms, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

Reservation

The general reservation way with Plateautours.com is recommended through email or online enquiry/booking form. Once received your enquiry, one of our trip advisor will assist you in building an exquisite travel plan based on your specific requirements and interests within one working day. After confirmed your tour program and fixed your travel schedule, the deposit (normally 20% to 30% of land tour fares and 100% China domestic transportation fares) is requested to pay to secure your booking and later on all tour arrangements once the deposit is settled. For regular tours, it is highly suggested you make the reservation 30 to 50 days prior to your travel schedule; For some special tours, it is requested to book three or four month to process all paper document and logistic preparation, according to the advice. After your booking is confirmed, we will email you a tour final document concerning full of travel arrangements information include proposed flights, hotels and your trip details.

Price & Payment

Prices are quoted in US dollars or Chinese currency on per person basis and all payments must be made in US dollars or Chinese currency or its equivalent. We accept the following ways of payment:

  • wire transfer (bank transfer)
  • PayPal

Cancellation Refunds

Once you have to cancel the tour after the deposit or partial/full payment has been paid, the cancellations must be accompanied by a statement in written form. Cancellation terms will be applied as of the date that we receive your written cancellation.

More than 30 Days 10% of the full tour fares
30 – 15 Days 20% of the full tour fares
14 – 7 Days 30% of the full tour fares
6 – 3 Days 50% of the full tour fares
2 Days or Less than 48 hours No show or 100% of the full tour fares

Indicates:

  • The above cancellation policy does NOT include the lost caused by refunding from air/train tickets that may be subject to penalty from supplier/airline and it may not be in full face value, and may require prepayment of processing fee to us which are non-refundable.
  • Refunds will be processed within 30 to 60 days of receipt of the written cancellation.
  • Any additional money transfer fees caused by the refunds will be afforded at clients own or deducted this amount from your refunds that we will specific the exactly costs as we transfer the refund.
  • No change of names or substitutions is permitted.
  • No refund or cancellation fees will be waived due to death or sickness.
  • No partial refund will be granted on unused land portion once tour has begun for any reason whatsoever include your own early departure, late arrival, or missed days on tours.
  • If the tour has to be cancelled due to political reasons, government orders or natural force, no cancellation charge on land portion excluding the lost caused by refunding from air/train tickets and refund transfer charges.
  • The above cancellation policy does NOT valid for some of special tours (such as overland adventure by bring own vehicles, filming ect.) which will be advised by our trip advisor accordingly.

Alteration of Itinerary

Before your reservation is confirmed or the tour contract is signed more than 30 days prior to your travel schedule, a free modification is acceptable that may be comprised the trip dates, service items, itinerary and the group size ect. For changes you make after the booking has been confirmed or the tour contract is signed less than 30 days prior to your travel schedule, 5% of additional service fee will be charged plus actual fees imposed by the suppliers such as hotels, airlines etc., or caused by the changes on travel date or destination. Travellers shall be aware that the short time change may lead to the suppliers’ availability that may not be guaranteed. In case of any change on flight/train schedule, land transportation, emergency, force majeure or any other issues beyond our control after the booking confirmation, Plateautours.com reserves the right to make changes, re-quote the tour fares that may increase or decrease, and offer you the similar alternatives best for you.

Liability & Responsibility

  • Plateau Tours & Adventures acts only as a tour operator and a tour agent as well as other suppliers. We organize, promote, and sell travel products and travel services provided in connection with its itineraries, including transportation, conveyance, accommodation, restaurants, sightseeing excursions, and other services, are purchased or reserved from various independent suppliers or affiliate suppliers that are not agents or employees of Plateau Tours. Although it endeavors to choose the best suppliers available, Plateau Tours does not own or has no right to control their operations and we thereby do not responsible for any negligent or willful act, or failure to act, of any supplier or third party. By utilizing the service of the suppliers, you agree that neither Plateau Tours nor any subsidiary or affiliate of us shall be liable of any accident, injury, damage on person or property, loss, illness or death, delays, transport failures which directly or indirectly caused by suppliers.
  • Plateau Tours is not liable for any loss, injury, damage to person or property, accident, delays or changes in flights/trains, death, alteration of itineraries or cancellation in part or in full caused by any reason, including but not limited to acts of God, weather, quarantines, strikes, civil disturbance, governmental actions, political unrest, lockouts, riots, theft, mechanical breakdowns, default, detention, annoyance, changes in government regulations, terrorism, war, or any other actions, omissions or conditions beyond Plateau Tours control.
  • Plateau Tours is not responsible for a client’s failure to follow instructions, customs or regulations including but not limited to loss or theft by acts of omissions of clients, failure to obtain required documentation including valid passports, visas and health certificates (where required) ect.
  • Plateau Tours reserves the right to accept or reject all trip registrants and participants at its complete discretion.
  • Plateau Tours reserves the right to decline, to accept, to retain or to remove any tour participant whose health (mental/physical) condition or general deportment impedes the operation of the tour or the rights, welfare or enjoyment of other tour participants.
  • Plateau Tours reserves the right to substitute hotels, flights, or cruise ships, to alter itineraries, or to cancel any trip prior to departure for any reason whatsoever, including insufficient signup or logistical problems that may impede trip operations. The refund of all land payments received shall release Plateau Tours from any further liability, but not to exceed the amount paid by passengers.
  • Plateau Tours reserves the right to take photographic or film records of any of our trips, and may use any such records for promotional and/or commercial purposes.

Travel Document

All clients must have a passport that is valid for at least six months after your date of departure from your place. All non-Chinese passport holders are required to have a valid Chinese Visa. The documentation of either passport or Chinese Visa is the sole responsibility of yours, though our travel advisor may assist you in applying for the necessary travel documentation upon your request. If you are intended to visit Tibet or some restricted areas in China, the Tibet travel permits or Permits required that we will assist you to work out.

Medical Issues

It’s required to advise us in writing, at or before your booking, of any physical, emotional or mental issue that probably requires professional care or use of particular equipment on the trip. Plateautours.com reserves the right to reject any clients whose condition, in our opinion, may affect the health, safety or enjoyment of other participants. You are solely responsible for checking the safety and security conditions, vaccination, and other health requirements of Chinese governments by visiting CDC.gov. Plateautours.com is not responsible for the costs of any medical treatment you may require during the trip. Under no circumstances is our responsible for the quality of medical care, or lack thereof, you may receive while on the trip.

Insurance

We strongly recommend that you purchase insurance from your country of origin or from World Nonads which covers for trip cancellation and interruption, baggage protection and delay, travel accidents and delay, and emergency medical and dental services and associated transportation.

Luggage Allowance

The regulations of the General Administration of Civil Aviation of China states that, the free baggage allowance within China is 20kg (44pounds) for the economy class, 30kg (66pounds) for the business class, and 40kg (88pounds) for the first class, plus limited carry-on luggage. Excess baggage charges are the sole responsibility of yours. Regulations within China specify that all suitcases must have a locking device attached. Failure to follow this regulation may result in refusal by airport staff to load suitcases onto the aircraft.
