This challenging cycling tour takes on the northern Tibet highlands and around Nam Tso Lake. Known as the Heavenly Lake in Tibetan language, Nam Tso is one of the three largest scared lakes in Tibet and the highest lake on the earth. The lake side is an extensive area covered by plains, marshes and sands with backdrop of sublime Nyenchen Tanglha Mountain range, which give riders distinctive biking experience to cross varied terrains along the turquoise lake and fabulous landscape. Wild donkey and gazelles appear on the marshlands nearby the lake at times. All this must bring the great fun through the ride.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Lhasa

Arrival Lhasa and pick-up service to you hotel. Rest in the hotel for better altitude acclimation.

Day 02: Lhasa Sightseeing

Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Monastery, stroll in Barkhor Bazaar.

Day 03: Lhasa Sightseeing

Visit Norbulingka, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery.

Day 04: Drive to Namtso Lake

Drive to Nam Tso Lake via Yampachen and Damxung. On the route, view the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, terrestrial heat and groups of hot springs scattered on the grassland. Overnight in the guesthouse or camping.

Day 05: Nam Tso Lake

Full day prepare for next day biking, check bicycles, detect road conditions and try to biking for a short distance. Overnight in the guesthouse or camping.

Day 06: Cycling to Gongga (camping & picnic)

Day 07: Cycling to Jiada (camping & picnic)

Day 08: Cycling to Dobin (camping & picnic)

Day 09: Cycling to Gama (camping & picnic)

Day 10: Cycling to Longma (camping & picnic)

The portion from Sangbu to Gor is along the mountain side and has the simple road.
