Qinghai Lake


Qinghai Lake, also called the Kokonor Lake in Mongolian language, is the largest inland saltwater lake in northwestern China measures 4,635 square kilometers in area.

it is 124 miles from Xining and is 10,500 feet above sea level. It is 130 kilometers from Xining city and is about 3,205 meters above sea level. The shape of Qinghai Lake is like an ellipse, with 109km length from west to east and 65km width from north to south, like a blue mirror nestled between snowy mountains and grasslands. Many birds will stop here on the Bird Island of the lake area when they migrate across Asia.
