Litang Chode

At the north of town of Litang in Gantze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Litang Chode, also known as Ganden Tubchen Chokhorling, was built in 1580 for the third Dalai Lhama.

It is the largest Gelugpa sect. monastery in Kham and one of three Tibetan monasteries in the region out of Tibet TAR (rest two are Labrang Monastery and Kumbum Monastery).
