Zoige Marshland


Located at northwest of Chengdu and 143 km away from Songpan town in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, the Zoige Marshland is the second largest high-altitude march area in China.

The marshes are located at an altitude of about 3,600 meters above sea level and cover an area of about 2,600 square kilometers. A serene lake of Huahu Lake (Flower Lake) is located in the heart of this area, where gains its name due to a certain wild white blooming in the lake. In 1994, a nature preserve was established in the marshes, it is also the habitat for the wild Black-necked cranes.
