Lamaling Monastery

Lamaling Monastery located in Buchu village, Nyingchi County, belongs to the Red sect. It is the biggest and most important monastery of Tibetan Buddhism.

The Nyingma sect is also known as the Red Hat. The monastery has super location. Mountains surround it to three sides and face a limpid stream flowing by the hillside with luxuriant green trees and a magnificent landscape with overlapping hills. Inside the valley, one may hear the sound of reciting prayers by young monks mingled with the rhythm pf crystal water flowing from the hillside amid sing-songs of birds in the forest. The architectural design of the monastery is ingenious, magnificent and solemn for its unique mould and exceptional style. The chapel, in a square courtyard, lies in a green enclosure with many Tibetan dogs in it. The whole monastery looks like a Mandala, 20 meters in height and 10 meters in diameter. It is topped with a golden roof; a pagoda and its wall are painted with white, blue, red and green color belts, which looks wonderful.
