Mapham Yumtso Lake

It is located in the boundary of the Purang County. The Mapham Yumtso Lake is the highest fresh water lake in the world stretching over some 412 square kilometers with an average altitude of 4587 meters.

The deepest part of the lake is 77 meters. It is one of the three biggest scared lakes in Tibet. Every year, a lot of pilgrims come to circumambulate the lake, especially in the year of the horse.
