Dali Ancient Town
Dali Ancient town, also called Yeyu town, lies 13 kilometers north from Xiaguan, the new capital town of present Dali Prefecture.
Embracing Erhai Lake in the east and adjoining Cangshan Mountain in the west, Dali old town was first established in the early period of the Ming Dynasty in 1382. Dali was the ancient capital of thrived Nanzhao kingdom and is the Bai ethnic minority. Its ancient quarter still retains its old world charm with flagstone streets, delicate courtyards, and traditional stone architecture within original city walls.
