Nujiang Canyon
Nujiang Grand Canyon, is the remotest of the Yunnan’s frontier zones, also the core of Three Parallel Rivers region. As the world’s longest canyon, it is sandwiched between the Gaoligong Mountain range and Myanmar to the west, Tibet to the north and the high Biluo Mountain to the east, sliced by the raging Mekong River, Nu River and Drung River.
Influenced by the southwestern monsoon climate in Indian Ocean, the canyon has several climatic zones and plenty of variety in its flora and fauna. Traditional ethnic cultures and the exotic mix of Han, Nu, Lisu, Tibetan and mysterious Drung nationalities are vibrant in the valley.
