Glimpse of Northern Sichuan

This one week tour, although the total driving distance is less than 1,500 kilometers, it will give you an addictive experience for the diversity of natural sceneries and Tibetan, Qiang plus some Hui Muslim cultures. Mere hours away from Chengdu city, it takes you already on the pristine valleys, forests covered mountains and vast grasslands in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Prefecture of northern Sichuan, where is also the second largest Tibetan habitation region in Sichuan and the main home for Qiang minority. Qiang people is one of the ancestors of the Chinese nation. They speak certain of archaic and unique language and the women wear the embroidered dresses with the exquisite patterns. The Tibetans here are mainly the branches of Burmapa and Gyarongpa. Long-term inhabited in multiracial areas, local Tibetans are more or less affected by and mixed with other minority cultures. They have resembling Qiang dresses of embroidered headscarf, belt and shoes, their houses are similarly with tall fortress of Qiang; Agriculture is the main mode of production for both Qiang and Tibetan, and their customs has blended a few features from Han Chinese.
