Standing in the Middle Beijing Road on the Red Hill, the Potala Palace is known as the highest palace in the world. It was built in the 7th century and destroyed later in the 8th century.

Situated in the Shalu village of Gyatso district 30 km away from the southeast of Shigatse city, the Shalu Monastery was built in 1000 AD.

The Lhamo Lhatso Lake is called ‘the spirit of the celestial maid lake’ with an altitude of 4000 meters, which is most legendary lake in Tibet. It covers an area of one square kilometers in oval shape.
Chimpu is located half way up the Narein Hill, about 15 km to the northeast of the Samye monastery with 4300 metres above the sea level.
